We all can relate to that overwhelming feeling when we have an idea, something that looks super exciting, but after further consideration it seems so BIG that it feels no longer achievable….

But is it really true or are we fooling ourselves into thinking it is? And if so, how can we change it?

If like me, you have the tendency to overthinking- you need to realise that this is not helping you to take control of your life and move you forward. Instead, overthinking makes you feel stuck, overwhelmed and off track.

Next time when you’ll catch yourself overthinking ask yourself: ‘What am I afraid of?’

• Am I reading an e-mail 5 times before sending it because I’m worried the recipient will read it and think I am stupid?

• Am I putting off quitting the current job because I am afraid I’m not good enough to get the position I really want?

• Am I repeating in my head the same question in a meeting before asking out loud because I am afraid people will find out I’m not as smart as they think I am?

You may hope that by thinking so much about it, you prepare yourself for what is coming, aka- for what you are afraid of. That’s a trap though.

Thinking about something, will not give you the control, action will.
